Pets for Adoption 2017-10-09T13:03:06+00:00

The City of Arnold Health Department has pets for adoption as they become available.

Adopting a pet can be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life. And adopting cats and dogs who have been rescued as strays also saves their lives.

The next time you and your family think about adding a dog or cat to your family, please consider looking for your pet at our Animal Control facility.

Download the City’s Pet Adoption Application below, complete it, and submit it in person at the Animal Control facility.

Our Pet Adoption policies, services, and agreement are as follows and can also be downloaded below.

We look forward to bringing your family together with a pet you will fall in love with!

Annual FVRCP (this vaccination covers panleukopenia (distemper), rhinotracheites, calicivirus, and pneumonitis)

The veterinarian or his/her staff may recommend for kittens 6 weeks of age or older to have additional care. This care is not covered in your adoption contract with the City of Arnold.

Any additional care is your responsibility, and you will be charged by the veterinarian for it. At adoption, if your animal is 4 months of age or older you should make an appointment for the above services. Your pet can then be spayed or neutered, and the annual rabies vaccination and the annual FVRCP vaccination given at the same time at no additional cost to the owner. However, these procedures must be done at the same time. A surgery appointment made ahead of time is required. If the owner elects to separate these procedures, then the regular prices will apply. Please feel free to call your veterinarian’s office for any information and to set an appointment.
